Terms of Service
1. What this service is
ET Trainer is an AI-powered exam-practice tool for the City & Guilds 2365-03 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations. It generates and marks realistic exam-style practice questions using artificial intelligence. It is a revision aid — not an official City & Guilds product, and not a substitute for your college or training provider.
Questions and feedback are AI-generated. While we work to maintain accuracy (including grounding the AI on approved reference notes), AI systems can make mistakes. We correct confirmed errors as quickly as possible, but you must not rely solely on this service for safety-critical or regulatory compliance decisions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, you should have the consent of a parent or guardian. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will close the account and delete associated data.
Many 2365-03 learners are aged 16–19 (apprentices). Nothing in this service targets under-13s, but we acknowledge a duty of care to younger learners and will respond to any safeguarding concerns promptly.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Do not share your account with others.
- Provide accurate information. We may suspend accounts based on false information.
- You may delete your account at any time by emailing us. We will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it (e.g. transaction records for VAT/accounting).
4. Braincells — credits and payments
Braincells are prepaid AI-use credits. Prices and pack sizes are shown on the top-up screen and on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details.
Refund policy:
- Unused braincells: You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided no braincells from that purchase have been used. Contact us at [email protected] with your order reference.
- Used braincells: Once AI calls have been made against a purchase, the used portion is non-refundable because the underlying AI inference cost has been incurred.
- UK consumers have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By starting to use AI questions after purchase you acknowledge that performance of the digital service has begun and waive your 14-day cancellation right for used credit.
Braincells have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and expire if your account is closed.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or reproduce our prompts, curriculum data, or AI outputs at scale.
- Share your account or sell access to other users.
- Use the service to generate content unrelated to electrical installation study.
- Attempt to circumvent the credit system or reverse-engineer the API.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules without refund of unused credits.
6. Intellectual property
The curriculum structure, software, and website design are our intellectual property. City & Guilds qualification names (2365-03, etc.) are trademarks of The City and Guilds of London Institute, which has no connection with this service. BS 7671 is published by the IET and NICEIC; we do not reproduce it.
You retain ownership of answers you type. By submitting them you grant us a limited licence to process them to provide the marking service.
7. AI disclosure
Questions, marking, feedback, model answers, and mini-lessons are generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude). AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. The AI is instructed to prioritise accuracy, and we continuously improve it via a human review process — but we make no guarantee that every answer or piece of feedback is correct.
Do not use AI-generated regulatory values or regulation numbers in actual electrical installation work without verifying them against your current copy of BS 7671 and the IET On-Site Guide.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of exam results, loss of earnings, or losses arising from reliance on AI-generated content.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. VAT
Prices shown include UK VAT where applicable. We account for UK and EU digital services VAT as required by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give you at least 14 days' notice by email before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.
